I'm going to refrain from posting an f-bomb-ridden rant; oh how I'd love to blow off some steam. Instead, I will just say that it is an extreme disappointment when you realize that your Tivo failed to record the two-hour season premiere of your favorite TV show...one that you'd been looking forward to for eight months. Of course said problem with Tivo is most likely user error, but for now, I'm going to go with the Tivo being a piece of shit that doesn't deserve to sit in my entertainment center. When the hell do the new episodes hit ABC on-line or iTunes?

8 months! hard to believe it. too bad i can't remember anything of what was going on.. but then again, i don't really remember anything. like there are these two lumberjacks that are claiming to be my parents..? well, I still trust that it will be a good season, and i'm excited to hear the podcast..

I'm so sorry your Tivo broke. In the past the lost episodes were posted on ABC's website the morning after the show was aired. Hopefully that's how they're doing it this year!

Glad you were able to find a means to watch it, 420. I wonder if C&J are recording right now. Or they're waiting until the weekend. Because the last episode was 2 hours and the podcast was 17 hours... This episode is two hours too...
stephen, good question. I was just thinking about what a challenge our distinguished hosts were going to face this year with all the time travel plus flashbacks, flashforwards, etc. My brain was completely twisted trying to keep up with the timelines when watching the premiere.
And LOL at the official podcast- shortest podcast in the history of teh internetz?

The video podcast was 5:57 while the audio one was 4:49. And of course there are intros and bumper music, so it's really less.

i was so gut-busted on Doctor Wizard's journal/Orchid drawing part.
On the choo choo tunnel thing, when Kate tells Aaron if the train goes in it's never coming back, I think they're alluding to going back to the island. If Kate goes into the tunnel/rabbit hole back the island, this time she's never coming back.

I though she was talking about a train toy getting stuck in the pipes in the sink or something. Like he out it in there because choo choos go into tunnels or something, and she was saying politely that if he does it again he won't get his toy back. I have no clue if that's even close to correct, but what the hell else makes someone say something so stupid?!
You guys are completely not getting the time travel. They are not changing anything because the events that happened always happened the way they are happening now. For example Faraday ALWAYS ran into Pierre Chang at the orchid, Ethan always shot Locke after the beachcraft crashed, Damon and Carton alluded that in one of their interviews. It is the "12 Monkeys" interpretation of time travel. Frogurt dying also does not change the past: Frogiurt lived his life till 2005 when he got transported back in time, now the time period he is in is his present. Therefore he is fair game to die, when Frogurt dies in 1970 there is a younger version of him living in the real world completely unaware that his future version just died. This younger version of Frogurt will continue to live as normal and would eventually end up crashing on the island and transported back to the 1970s where he would be killed by flaming arrows. From the perspective of the people who killed him they always killed an idiot yelling fire. Again, in short, these time-travel influenced events always happened in the past because they always traveled back to the past, there was never a point where Sawyer and Juliet did not exist to be caught by the soldiers or redshirts to be killed by the flaming arrows. We saw the post-crash events transpire in front of our eyes and if the time-traveling version of Sawyer tried to meddle with an event like say warning everyone about Micheal's betrayal it would never worked because the losties never got the warning that Michael may betray them. The fact that the writers mentioned that Ethan remembered shooting Locke further proves that they are following the 12 monkeys version of time travel and there is no changing of the past (atleast so far).
Right when Claude said "The Claude audience" I thought CLAUDIENCE SAY CLAUDIENCE. I jumped for joy when he did.
ABC announced a new Lost spin-off series. It's called 'The misadventures of John Shit-Locke'
From the promos:
"Holey man? ..Or a two-bit scam..? Only time will tell. But if you know John, you know that shit moves in 360degree shit circles John Locke, caught in a shit snare, will shit all over in the new series dedicated only to the shittieness of John..Shit..Lock"

So here are a few things that I think have been proven by the fact that the island can time-travel:
1. The island's healing powers are just a product of time running faster
2. The food drops were from another time period
3. The white flash of sky has something to do with the sky turning purple previously
3. The flashbacks could literally be flashbacks
4. Character's on-island "visions" or "apparitions" could be 'memories'?
5. Provides a way for the show to reveal and explore things we thought we'd never see...without using flashbacks! (The Black Rock, origin of the island, Danielle Russeau, etc...)
And one thing that I don't have much to theorize about is RAIN... which must have some significance in relation to time travel.
