I have been listening to you guys for years and have never commented. I just wanted to thank you guys for all of your podcasting and continuing to put out great content. I love these episode commentaries!

Did you guys hear the episode of the Kevin Pollack Chat Show with Damon Lindelof as a guest? Have any thoughts on it?
I never knew about the whole Dave-MIB controversy in the encyclopedia, thanks for bringing it up.
I've never really thought that Dave was supposed to be MIB. Among other reasons, it's clear that none of the other people can see him in that scene when he's in the middle of the crowd, and Libby said she couldn't see that slipper Hurley was holding (plus if he really was holding a real, physical slipper, it would be a little strange for him to be carrying around a piece of Smokey for a while).
I suppose if the writers really wanted to, they could have retconned that Dave really was MIB, but there really isn't a particular reason to do so. I personally actually like the idea that Dave is in his head more; the fact that Hurley is actually insane (for this one episode) is a more powerful story than MIB just fucking around as usual.

Well, Dave at Santa Rosa would still be in Hurley's head, and it would be that image that MiB used.
Thanks again for such great podcasts!
The interview of Claude and Justin on the It Only Ends Once podcast. I remembered about this today and listened it to the first time in years:

Worth another listen if you are looking for some C&J to listen to!

I got to listen to four hours of LLD this week. It's just like the old days. Thanks for continuing to put the show out there. - David3
